DUBLIN–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Nov 21, 2022–
The “Global Syphilis Drug Testing Market Size, Share & Trends Analysis Report by Type, by Drug Testing Location), by Regional Outlook and Forecast, 2022-2028” report has been added to ResearchAndMarkets.comoffer.
The global syphilis testing market size is expected to reach USD 1.5 billion by 2028, with the market growing at 5.6% CAGR during the forecast period.
Syphilis is a bacterial sexually transmitted disease (STD) caused by Treponema pallidum. The first two stages are the most contagious. The early phase of syphilis is the hidden, or latent phase, during which the patient is unaffected. The disease is still present, but there are no noticeable symptoms. The second stage, tertiary syphilis, is the most dangerous to health.
Syphilis occurs in stages, each with its own set of symptoms. However, the steps may overlap and the indications generally do not appear in the same order. The user could have syphilis for years without noticing any signs. A small sore called a chancre (SHANG-kur) is the first indication of syphilis.
The sore occurs where the germs first entered the body. While the majority of people with syphilis only get one chancre, some develop several. The chancre usually emerges three weeks after exposure. Since the chancre is usually painless and can be hidden in the vagina or rectum, many people with syphilis are unaware of it. Within three to six weeks, the canker should heal on its own.
Treponema pallidum subspecies pallidum is a highly motile Gram-negative bacterium with a spiral structure. Yaws (subspecies pertenue), bejel (subspecies carateum) and pinta (subspecies carateum) are three other human diseases caused by the subspecies Treponema pallidum. They do not cause neurological disease, unlike the pallidum subspecies. It cannot survive without a host for more than a few days.
Indeed, its tiny genome (1.14 Mbp) lacks the metabolic pathways necessary to produce the majority of its macronutrients. It takes over 30 hours to double in size. The bacterium is known for its ability to evade the immune system as well as its invasiveness.
Market Growth Factors:
Raising public awareness of syphilis treatment
The use of social media platforms and various campaigns by the NGO and various authorities are raising awareness about the market for syphilis testing. During STD Awareness Week, which takes place during the second full week of April, people are encouraged to become aware of STDs and their impact on their lives.
The goal is to reduce the stigma, fear and discrimination associated with STDs, as well as to ensure that people have the tools and knowledge they need to prevent, detect and treat STDs. Many governments in developed and developing countries are trying to educate the public about the need for early detection of STDs.
Increase government funding or investment in STD testing
Several government agencies are increasing their investments in the development of rapid and accurate STD tests, as they help control syphilis cases by administering the right treatments at the right time.
Patients with STDs have a much higher risk of death because they are not tested with the right measures at the right time, which makes their condition more fragile and harder to cure. The government as well as other health care organizations have developed different initiatives to raise public awareness about STDs.
Marketing Restriction Factor:
Impact of taboos and social stigmas
Extensive efforts to identify basic interventions that can help reduce risky sexual behavior by modifying one’s behavior remain challenging. According to the surveys, it is essential to focus on well-defined communities, to interact broadly with specific target audiences and to integrate them into the design, implementation and evaluation processes. There are still several stigmas associated with STDs that keep people from being checked. Many STDs are thought to be stigmatized in society. In other words, people infected with STDs are judged or sentenced. Other diseases may also be associated with social stigma.
