Mitchell Shire Public Libraries will receive funding of $342,825 from the state government’s Public Library Funding Program.
The Public Libraries Funding Program provides annual funding for the expansion of library collections, online services, and the delivery of library and outreach programs.
Local Government Minister Melissa Horne said the funding helps libraries provide educational resources to the community.
“We support learning and education, and this funding will allow libraries to continue to provide accessible and engaging resources to communities in Victoria through the Public Library Funding Program,” she said.
Northern Victoria MP Jaclyn Symes said the government was proud to help regional library councils and societies provide resources to the community.
“As our community grows, so do their needs. This funding will provide residents of Upstate Victoria with better access to technology and digital resources, literacy support services, traditional collections, event spaces and workstations,” he said. she declared.
